Olen ehtinyt neuloa valmiiksi vain yhden, joten kuvia on vain oikean jalan sukasta. :D Mutta vasemmassa jalassa palmikko kulkee sitten eri suuntaan. Myös säärestä löytyy palmikko.



Ja jalan palmikko lähtee kiertymään kantalapusta tolleesti.



Kaiken kaikkiaan olen ohjeeseen tyytyväinen! Pari typoa jäi ekaan versioon mutta nyt nekin on korjattu. Ohje on ostettavissa Ravelrysta (ei tarvitse olla jäsen), maksaa huimat viisi dollaria. Ohje on englanniksi.

Näiden sukkien neulomiseen tarvitaan seuraavia asioita:
sukkapuikot, 2,25 mm ja 2,75 mm (isommat luomiseen)
Lai-la-lai Yarnz Sock, 420 m / 100 g, 75 % villaa ja 25 % nylonia (tai vastaavaa ohutta sukkalankaa, esim. Tico-Ticosta tulis aika hienot! kuvan sukka on taikapallista, ei mulla omia lankoja itelle riitä ko myyn kaiken!)

Nelinkertainen Fibonacci -huivi / Quadruple Fibonacci Scarf

Tämä huivi on oiva käyttökohde jämäkerille, jotka ovat (tai eivät ole) keskenään suunnilleen samaa vahvuutta.

This scarf puts scrap yarn in good use. The scraps don't need to be of same weight but it helps.

Fibonacci on lukusarja, jossa seuraava luku on kahden edellisen luvun summa. Eli sarja menee että 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 jne. Koska vain yhden kerroksen raidat eivät näytä juuri miltään, aloitin sarjan nelosella: 4, 4, 8, 12, 20, 32.

Fibonacci is a sequence, in which the next number is the sum of the two previous numbers. So it goes like 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 etc. But because only one row of stripe doesn't look like much on a scarf, I started my sequence with a four: 4, 4, 8, 12, 20, 32.

Loin 25 silmukkaa ja neulon ainaoikeaa. Käyttämäni langat ovat vahvuudeltaan noin 100-140 m / 50 g, paitsi sammalenvihreässä raidassa: sen neuloin Dropsin Alpacalla ja Hjerten sukkalangalla. Väripinnasta tuli oikein kaunis, ehkä käytän ko. yhdistelmää jossain muuallakin.

I cast on 25 stitches and I knit every row. The yarn I used varies between 100 and 140 meters per 50 grams, except for the moss green stripe: I knit that holding a strand of Drops Alpaca and Hjerte Socke together. I like how the colour looks, maybe I'll use it later in some other project.

Colonel Roy Mustang

Neulontarintamalla on ollut kohtuuhiljaista. Olen väkrännyt sitä sun tätä saamatta mitään oikeastaan tehtyä, uusin projekti on Vogue Knittingin 25-vuotisjuhlahuivi. Pieniä kukkasia on näppärä tehdä luennoilla ja niiden välissä.

Tänään otin kuitenkin taas puikoille alkemistilapaseni. Niiden innoituksen alkulähde on Full Metal Alchemist -animesarja ja erityisesti eräs sen hahmoista, Roy Mustang. Mustangilla on hansikkaat, joiden kuvio ja materiaali auttavat häntä periaatteessa tekemään tulta tyhjästä. Lapaset ovat nyt siinä vaiheessa, että toinen on peukaloa vaille valmis ja toisen kärkeä aloitin tänään. Mustangit neulotaan kärjestä alaspäin ja niissä on palmikkokuvio kämmenselässä, kirjailtu kuvio kämmenpuolella ja palmikkoresori. Kirjoitan niihin ohjeen kunhan saan ne ensin valmiiksi.

Hello thar. It's been quiet at the knitting front. I've been making this and that without actually completing anything. My latest project is the 25th anniversary scarf from Vogue Knitting, those small flowers make a good project for classes and the time between them.

Today I finally cast on my left alchemist mitten. The source of their inspiration is the anime series Full Metal Alchemist and one character in particular - Colonel Roy Mustang. He wears a pair of gloves that are made of a special material and hold a special pattern. These both help him create fire out of thin air. The mittens are now almost half-way done; I have completed the right mitten (without the thumb, I'll make them last) and I started the left one today. The Mustangs are knitted top down, they have a cabled rib, a cable pattern at the back of the hand and an embroidered pattern on the palm. I shall make a written pattern for them once I finish them first.

Something old, something new

Sain viimein kuvattua jokunen viikko sitten valmistuneen sliparin. \o/ Ja valmiiksi kämmekkäät joiden kanssa menikin iloisesti koko yö. Tai no aamukahteen kun piti väkisin saada ne tehtyä ennen kuin meni nukkumaan. -.- Kirjontakuvion kanssa siinä niin pitkään meni, en saanut aikaiseksi nättiä jälkeä millään. Lopulta, neljän tunnin väännön jälkeen, tyydyin vain yhteen riimuun ja sain sen valmiiksi, kyllähän tuo nyt. Kelpaa.

Kirjoitan kämmekkäiden ohjeen vielä auki tänään ja lähetän sen Kalevala-Ullaa varten eteenpäin. Jos ne nyt kelpaavat, ehkä parempi neuloja saisi niistä nätimmät. :D

I finally got around to photographing the slipover I finished a few weeks back. \o/ And I finished the wristlets I started to days ago. That took all night (well, to 2 AM) since I insisted on finishing them before going to bed. The embroidery was the tricky part, I spent about four hours trying to get it neat. I didn't, until I settled for one simple rune (which I had to draw horizontally due to lack of space). But it'll do. It must. :D

I'm going to write the pattern for the wristlets today and send it to Kalevala-themed Ullaneule (Finnish online knitting magazine). If they'll take them, maybe a better knitter could make them prettier. :D
